Community-Based Vocational Education Course Description

Community-Based Vocational Education (CBVE) is a work program designed to train special education students for the work place and provide them with on-the-job experience in the community. 
CBVE's goals include: 
  • Increase the student's attention to task,
  • Increase ability to follow instructions,
  • Improve social skills for the job setting
  • Increase work stamina  
Classroom Rules:
  • Be on time.
  • Be polite.
  • Show respect to others.
  • Use appropriate language.
  • Greet others the right way: shake hands and speak when spoken to.
  • Keep hands and feet to yourself.
  • Get permission before leaving work area or classroom.
  • Ask permission to use things (for example: computer, supplies)
  • No electronic devices, including cell phones, IPODs, or MP3 Players.

Tuesdays & Thursdays-9:20 a.m.-11:00 a.m.-Peter Piper Pizza, 4811 W. Commerce or Goodwill Store, 4861 W. Commerce.
John F. Kennedy High School:
Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays-2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.-HEB, 721 Castroville, or San Antonio Las Palmas Branch Library, 515 Castroville.
Tuesdays & Thursdays-2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.-Pizza Hut, 1820 S. Gen. McMullen, or Goodwill Store, 4861 W. Commerce.
