 I am a native of San Antonio, TX (South San High School) and I am a U.S. Army veteran (1988-1992). Prior to becoming a certified teacher I worked for seven years in sales/customer service management roles.  In 2001 I realized that I was not enjoying the work I was doing and after some careful reflection, I was able to reconnect with what I always wanted to do with my life: to work with at-risk adolescent youth. 
 
Soon after that realization I returned to the Alamo Community Colleges to complete some course work and eventually transferred and graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio (B.S. General Mathematics, 2005).  I currently hold the Generalist 4th-8th and the Mathematics 8th-12th teaching certificates from the State Board of Educator Certifications.  I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification from Lamar University. 
 
Besides thinking of easier ways to explain math to my students, some of my favorite things to do are with my family.  I have been married to an amazing woman since 1997 and I have three sons and a daughter.  My children are actively involved in several sports and extra curricular activities throughout the year and supporting them however I can is very important to me.
