I am a native to San Antonio. I graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1981 and earned a teaching certificate in 1983. In 1994 I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a Masters Degree in Biology. I have taught science for grades 6 through college and started teaching  in Edgewood in 1986 at the "Magnet School" for "at risk" students, for 2 years. 1988 at Brentwood Middle School for 1 year, and moved to Memorial High School, 1989 - 1998. 1999 I taught at the Math/Science Academy and in 2000 I was the district's Elementary Science Specialist In 2003 I came to John F. Kennedy HS as the Science Literacy Teacher and 2008 - 2010 I was selected to work with "at risk" students as the Student Acheivemnet Specialist and this year I am the Academic Dean.  
I have a daughter, Monica, my son-in-law, Alfredo,  who has blessed me with 2 grandaughters, Alexandria, 8 years old and Ariana, 5 years old.
