Mrs. Toribio-Mtz. has taught at the Edgewood Fine Arts Academy since 2008. Prior to joining the Academy, Mrs. Toribio-Mtz. was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Texas at San Antonio and at Northwest Vista and St. Philips colleges in the Alamo Community College District.
Mrs. Toribio-Mtz. spent the majority of her collegiate career acquiring extensive knowledge of studio practice in a variety of media. She earned her B.F.A. from Baylor University and her M.F.A. in Painting from UTSA. During her summers in college she studied at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design in New York City. She hopes to provide her students with the tools to develop their own visual language.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Mrs. Toribio-Mtz. attended the Advanced Visual Arts Magnet School in the Aldine Independent School District. She is excited to be part of the Academy and have the opportunity to teach in an enriching and inspiring educational environment.
On her spare time, Mrs. Toribio-Mtz. develops her own series of figurative work.
