Thompson, Leroy


  
     Hello! I'm Leroy Thompson, and I have been teaching in Edgewood ISD since August 2007.  This is my 6th year here at E.T. Wrenn.  I have been teaching math the last 5 years.  This year I will be teaching 6th grade Social Studies and looking forward to this new opportunity.
 
     I was raised in a military family and lived in many places.  I had attended high school in three different locations.  Upon my high school graduation from Bacon Academy in Colchester, Conneticut, I entered the United States Air Force following in my fathers foot steps.
 
     During my service in the Air Force, I earned an Associate Degree of Applied Sciences in Avionics, Electronics and Personnel Administration from the Community College of the Air Force.  I retired from the Air Force in 1998 and continued my education.  In 2002, I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. 

     After realizing that my true passion in life was working with children, and teaching, I decided to put my education to better use.  I entered a teaching certification program through ESC Region 20.  In the summer of 2007, my dream of becoming a professional educator came true.  I look forward to the opportunity to enrich your child's life while sparking their interest in education.
