8th Grade Mathematics

Course Description & Expectations

My expectations are very clear for all my students, my students will learn 8th grade Mathematics according to the expectations set by the state of Texas.

Not only will I expect my students to study and learn Math, but I hope to teach them about life, responsibility and respect.

1st Nine Weeks:

Concentration of skill building and reviewing numeracy
Enhancing Category 1 and Category 2 of the College and Career Readiness Standards

2nd and 3rd Nine Weeks:

Utilizing problem solving strategies for word problems
Pre-teaching new standards through manipulatives

4th Nine Weeks:

Passing the 8th Grade STAAR Test
Proceeding into the CScope Curriculum for High School Algebra
