The 6th grade social studies classroom examines people, places and societies of the present day world. We will examine the following areas of social studies:

  • Geography
  • Economy
  • Culture
  • Science, Technology & Society
  • Exploration Skills
 
 
The 7thgrade social studies classroom examines the history of Texas from early times to the present. Below are some of the eras of Texas history we will study:
 
 
  • Natural Texas and its People
  • Age of Contact
  • Mexican National
  • Spanish Colonial
  • Revolution and Republic
  • Early Statehood

 

 
 
 
How are we learning?  We will learn in a variety of ways!  Activities will be fun and challenging!  The main goal is to help you survive in a democratic society.  Expect activities that require you to write, illustrate, move, listen, create, predict, debate and justify.  We are preparing you to be successful on the 8th grade STAAR test and in college.
