1st Grade Expectations
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
The following link will take you to the TEKS, which are the objectives that are required to be taught to and learned by all 1st graders in the state of Texas. These objectives are stated in our daily lesson plans.

A few 1st Grade Survival Skills for each subject are as follows (should be mastered by April):
Reading:
Read the Dolsch 300 word list
Read a 1st grade passage at 60 words per minute with 100% comprehension
Language Arts:
Write complete sentences using correct capitalization and punctuation.
Write a developed journal entry based on a given subject
Read and Spell all the EISD 1st Grade No-Excuse Spelling Words
Math:
Count to 100.
Recognize #'s 0-100 when given in random order
Tell what # comes before/after a given #.
Addition / Subtraction
Tell time by the hour and half hour.
Tell fractions 1 whole, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4
