I am glad to be back at Winston for my fifth year! Here is a little bit about myself:I was born and raised in Mexico City. My family moved to New York when I was 9 and I lived there until I decided to move to San Antonio five years ago. I attended the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY for my undergraduate studies. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I intended to go into the medical field, but after visiting my sister's classroom (she too, is a teacher), I decided that teaching might be the thing for me. With my sister's support I got accepted into the NYC Teaching Fellows, an alternative certification program that recruits professionals to teach in high need areas. Two years after joining the Fellows, I received my Masters degree in Urban Education from Mercy College, in Bronx, NY. I taught 4th grade bilingual education at PS 7 in the Bronx for several years before moving to Texas. Although I miss New York and my family back home, Texas has been very good to me. Today I have three very special boys in my life; two toddler boys and my wonderful husband of 10 years. Thank you for letting me be a part of your child's life! |
