+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Roper (riding opportunities promoting exceptional riders) Presents: Inclusive riding (20th Annual) February 17, 2013 Location: San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Main Arena/Exposition Hall Time: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM ***MUST BE ON TIME TRY TO BE EARLY!*** There will be assigned horse handlers who will know the pattern and will walk beside the riders for the entire pattern. Pattern: Walk in the IN GATE Weave 6 poles Walk over the cavaletties Walk through the L shape Get a Frisbee or ring, walk to barrel, and throw it in barrel Turn left and do Barrel pattern (one right turn and 2 left turns) Walk out the Gate Rules: Each participant must wear a helmet Each assisted rider must have a horse handler Independent riders will have a handler to “float” in arena Needed: Horses and volunteers willing and patient & able to purchase their own parking/gate pass. ROPER Riders; Please check in at Gate “A” on Houston Street!! You must get your car pass & gate pass ahead of time. All car passes will be given out by Coach Mell at practice the Wednesday night before (February 13th, 2013). Attach the car pass and go to the designated area to park ONLY or you will be towed! Ask anyone in the office or an officer where to park with this pass. Here are photos of our athletes of the Year from EISD! Dalia Martinez, Female Athlete of the Year Area 20 Special Olympics and Matthew Olguin, Male Athlete of the year, both of ETC! These two have been athletes since they were 8 years old. They are now young adults! They both work everyday with job coaches. Both Dalia and Matt attend all functions offered to them by Coach Mell. They participate in Bowling, Basketball, Roller Skating, Equestrian and Track and Field competition. Matthew graduated from JFK earning his letterman jacket there. Dalia graduated from Memorial earning her letterman jacket there! They both assist me with the Young Athlete Program which we just completed last week at Stafford EC, Burleson EC and Cardenas EC.
