Name: Merriel Drevs Grade: Second
I was born in a little town in Iowa with 3 sisters. Both of my parents were teachers. My father was a College Professor and my mother was a High School Art Teacher. I knew when I was a little girl that I wanted to be a teacher, too. During high school I got into a college co-op program and started taking classes at Iowa Lakes Community College where my father taught. I graduated early with a Associate of Arts Degree and quickly signed up to attended Makato State University in Minnesota to start on my education degree. I transferred to the University of Northern Iowa, which was called Iowa's Teacher College when my grandmother attended, to finally get my teaching degree in May of 1986. I moved to Texas in August of 1986 and started teaching at Emma Frey Elementary. Two years later I transferred to Stafford and started teaching first grade. After teaching first grade for 25 years I moved up to second grade. I am very excited to be teaching second grade. I studied the curriculum during the summer and I am ready. |
