Progress reports will be sent home next week, please sign and return.  Next week is CBA week, and students will be taking an assessment in every subject.  Attendance is very important for the entire week. Please schedule doctor or dental appointments after school hours.

We DID it!!  We succeeded in having perfect attendance for the entire week.  This is the first time it has happened all year, but I'm hoping we can continue this trend for another week! To celebrate, I treated your child to a pickle today.  Perhaps if we can go a whole month with perfect attendance we can have a bigger reward.....pizza maybe??

I am really proud of the improvements I am seeing in reading; math is still a struggle, but we're gaining ground there also.  Please continue to help your child with his/her Connections math nightly, and ask your child to show you the Singapore model drawing we've begun learning in class.  I believe it will be a big help for my kiddos.

Well, it's over!  We made it through the first nine weeks, and report cards will go home next week.  We have taken CBAs which show where our strengths are and where we need some more work.  I will begin pulling small groups in math to meet needs and we will be doing weekly compositions in writing.

This week marks the end of the first nine weeks.  It's hard to believe we've already completed a fourth of our school year!  Because we are at the end of the grading period, this week will be very busy with curriculum based assessments (CBAs), with students taking one test for each subject.  Please make sure your children are in school all week.  In addition, most students have not reached their AR point goal for this nine weeks.  Friday will be the last day to take accelerated reader tests to count for the first report card.  Please make sure your child is reading reading reading reading!!

We have completed 5 weeks of school.  Progress Reports will be due at the end of next week.  Please check grades frequently and remind your child to turn in all assignments.  Accelerated Reader is up and running and each child has an individualized goal.  Ask your child each week how he/she is doing in regards to meeting their 9-week goal.

UIL starts this week!!  I will be coaching 4th grade number sense on Wednesdays, from 3:30-4:30. Permission slips to interested students will go home on Monday.

We had our first round of Curriculum Based Assessments (CBAs) this week.  These tests will be given during the 4th and 9th weeks of each grading period.  Gradespeed will be updated weekly, please check grades frequently and encourage your child to turn in any missing assignments.  Thank you to all parents who came in during Open House, I enjoyed being able to talk to all of you.  If you weren't able to stop in, please watch for your child's progress report to come home on Monday.  Please sign and return it and then I will send home a copy for your records.

  • Welcome to 4th Grade!

We have had a busy start to the new school year!  The children have adjusted to 4th grade quite well, and are learning my routines and expectations.  I have been very impressed with their level of participation!  Thank you parents!  I am hoping to find at least one parent that is willing to come in and help out once a week with copies, bulletin boards, stapling, etc.  If you're interested, please let me know!  Thanks!  Don't forget, Open House is next Thursday at 3:30.  Please stop by, I'll be handing out progress reports at that time.

What an great week!!  Our attendance for this week was the best it has been all year!!!  Thank you parents and students!    Permission slips went home on Thursday for our field trip to the Witte Museum on Tuesday.  Please sign and return the form if you haven't already done so.  We have another Flex Day on the 12th.  Almost all students took at least two AR tests this week, and they are beginning to get closer to their 9-week goals.  We will have an after-school movie party for those students who meet their AR goals for the first nine weeks.  Ask your child if he (or she) has earned their party yet!

Can you believe it is nearly October? Where did September go so quickly?!  We have been incredibly busy with all of our learning!  And there is so much more to come in the months ahead.  In the next two weeks, I will be sending out a sign-up sheet for parent conferences.  I will have many time slots available. Please respond quickly by sending back the form with your child.

I am looking for at least one Room Parent who can come to school and run copies, staple materials, etc.  If you are interested, please contact me and we'll get the process started for signing up as a volunteer.  Thank you!!

We will have a field trip to the Witte Museum in early October- watch for permission slips to come home!
