Welcome to the Office of Communications and Public Relations
 
The Office of Communications and Public Relations manages the District's communications and media relations activities, produces internal and external publications for employees, students, and the community such as The Edgewood Historian, and oversees content on the District's website, www.eisd.net.
 
News releases are provided by the Communications and Public Relations utilizing electronic media outlets to inform community, employee's about the achievements and recent accomplishments of the District, upcoming events, public awareness campaigns, and other pertinent information. Additionally, the department also provides audio-visual assistance during meetings, and other district events.
 
In addition to the internal media releases, we also utilize a quarterly publication, The Edgewood Historian is to inform and educate the community.
 
The Office of Communications / Public Relations is dedicated to customer service.
 
Under the direction of the Superintendent, Dr. Jose A. Cervantes, the Office of Communications/ Public Relations also plans special events and recognition celebrations.

Public Relations Officer



 
Rolando E. Martinez (Roland) is Edgewood ISD’s new Public Relations Officer. Roland previously was Public Relations Manager for the City of San Antonio’s Capital Improvements Management Services Department. He has more than 10 years’ experience in school district public relations, and also 10 years’ experience as a newspaper journalist, including the San Antonio Express-News.

He has a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Roland looks forward to serving the Edgewood community and meetingas many employees and students as possible.
