My name is Donald Kearney and I have been the music teacher here for the past 7 years.  I'm looking forward to another exciting year at Roosevelt Elementary!
    
Some interesting  facts about me:  I was born in Northampton, England and came to the United States at 2 years old. My mother is also a teacher.  My father was in the Air Force. I've lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Wilmington, Delaware; and Corpus Christi, Texas.  San Antonio was the city I chose to attend college and I've lived here ever since!! I attended and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University.  That college is not too far from Roosevelt!
    
I love San Antonio and the Edgewood District!  I've taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and even 6th grade. However, music is my favorite.  Now, I get to work with Kinder- 5th grade everyday!!  I've been honored by my coworkers as "Teacher of the Year"  before, but truly, my students make me feel like a "Teacher of the Year" all the time!!
    
This fall, I was accepted as a member of the San Antonio Choral Society and I continue to serve in different church choirs and as a soloist.  I also love to be with family and friends. (My scrapbooks are full of them!!)
