Mrs. Claudia Sánchez
Welcome! I am very excited to be your Accountability Coordinator. This is my eleventh year as an educator, all of them spent proudly serving the Edgewood Community. During my tenure in EISD, I have served as a first, third, and fourth grade teacher, serving both monolingual and bilingual students at Roosevelt Elementary, as an Instructional Facilitator/Coach At Gus Garcia Middle, and then Assistant Principal, also at Gus Garcia Middle School. As the Accountability Coordinator for the district, I look forward to an enriching experience as I work alongside campuses and administrators, helping guide our students to become independent thinkers and life-long learners while increasing their academic achievement.
From a very young age, my parents instilled in me the value of education. I graduated from Dr. Leo G. Cigarroa High School in Laredo, Texas and attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Political Science. After working in the business world for more than ten years, I went back to school to attain my teaching certification. I then enrolled at Lamar University in Beaumont where I earned a Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration with Principal Certification.
