Annual Go Away, Big Green Monster! Writing Project

After listening to Go Away, Big Green Monster!, students were inspired to imagine and then draw their own monster creations. They then used descriptive language to help the reader picture the monster in their minds. Finally, a partner drew a monster based upon only the written description. Students then compared their original creation to the picture created by their partner. This helped them to understand the importance of clear, exact, and descriptive words when writing.
