AVID is a great program used in the 4th and 5th grade to help students get organized and learn helpful techniques that will help them be prepared for middle school, high school and especially college. Every child has a student planner which is used to write their daily homework and events happening in school. Students also learn how to take proper notes in class to use for studying. AVID has different techniques teachers use in class to help the student better understand their own learning style (what works and what doesn't work).
