Mendez, Alisha

I am thrilled to begin yet another new year here at Perales Elementary School. This is my second year teaching third grade, and I am excited to begin preparing for the STAAR Test with my students.
My desire to become an elementary teacher began when I was quite young. When I was a junior in high school I was given the opportunity to tutor 1st graders in the area of reading. During my college years, I worked with grades K-6th, special education, and gifted/talented students. I student taught both 4th grade general education and 5th grade G/T. The moment I earned my B.S.E.d in Elementary Education, I came back to Texas! 
It has been my goal to give back to my community by empowering young minds with the confidence and skills needed to be successful in their educational experience.
