Principal Martinez' Bio

Gloria Jean Martinez is proud to serve as the Principal at Loma Park Elementary. She has been in Edgewood ISD all her life. She was a student at Perales Elementary, then again at Brentwood Middle School and finally she graduated from John F. Kennedy. She is extremely proud to say that she is a product of Edgewood who received a world class education from great teachers. Her dream has always been to work in Edgewood ISD and give back to her community. She received her bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Spanish from Our Lady of the Lake University. She also received her  master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas in San Antonio. She is currently working on her Superintendent certification and doctorate degree at UTSA. She began her educational career in the fall of 2000 at H.K. Williams Elementary as a Third Grade Bilingual Teacher. She then became the Literacy Teacher at Las Palmas Elementary. She was an Instructional Facilitator for two and half years at Las Palmas Elementary. She then went to Perales Elementary in 2009 as the Instructional Officer and from 2010-2012 she served as the Assistant Principal at Perales Elementary.
She  thoroughly enjoys working with the students, parents, faculty, and staff of the Edgewood Community. Her personal vision is to educate and motivate! Parents/Guardians are always welcome to come visit with her to learn more about the campus and find out about the exciting learning opportunities provided here at Loma. Education is very important to her and she hopes to instill the value of receiving a world class education to all Loma Park Mustangs.
