Principal Martinez' Bio

My name is Gloria Jean Martinez and I am proud to serve as the Principal at Loma Park Elementary. I have been in Edgewood ISD all my life. I was a student at Perales Elementary, I then went to Brentwood Middle School and I am a John F. Kennedy graduate. I am extremely proud to say that I am an Edgewood product who received a world class education from great teachers. My dream has always been to work in Edgewood ISD and give back to my community. I received my bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Spanish from Our Lady of the Lake University. I also received my master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I am currently working on my Superintendent certification and doctorate degree at UTSA. I began my educational career in the fall of 2000 at H.K. Williams Elementary as a Third Grade Bilingual Teacher. I then became the Literacy Teacher at Las Palmas Elementary. I was an Instructional Facilitator for two and half years at Las Palmas Elementary. I then went to Perales Elementary in 2009 as the Instructional Officer and from 2010-2012 I served as the Assistant Principal at Perales Elementary.
I thoroughly enjoy working with the students, parents, faculty, and staff of the Edgewood Community. My personal vision is to educate and motivate! Parents/Guardians, you are always welcome to come visit with me to learn more about our campus and find out about the exciting learning opportunities we provide. Education is very important to me and I hope to instill the value of receiving a world class education to our Loma Park Mustangs.
