All About Me!
Hello, my name is Blanca F. Gutierrez and I am so excited to be your child's teacher. Therefore, I want to tell you some things about myself.

I was born in Kerrville,Texas. I graduated from Tivy High School. Go Antlers! Then I attended Schreiner University for one year. I wanted to go to the big city so I transferred to Our Lady of the Lake University and received my bachelor's degree.
I also got my bilingual and ESL endoresement from UTSA.

I have been teaching at Loma Park Elementary for 30 plus years. Loma Park is my home away from home. Wow! The time sure has flown by. I am one of the veteran teachers. I taught first grade almost throughout my entire career. I also taught second grade for a couple of years. I have taught third grade for a few years. This is such a crucial grade since STAAR testing begins here. I taught bilingual at the beginning of my career. I was a GT Lead Teacher for ten years.  Now, I am back teaching bilingual again. What a great change and experience to have!
I love teaching at Loma Park and plan to retire from here in a few more years. My son, Matthew, attended Loma Park from Prekinder to fifth grade and loved it too.  He excelled at his new Middle School and told me that all the TAKS strategies he learned from his previous teachers helped him immensely. Now he is in high school and loves playing in percussion. I am so proud of his accomplishments.

When we're not studying, my family loves going to the beach, camping at different sites and fishing and swimming at the Guadalupe River located by my parents' residence in the hillcountry. This is the ideal place to relax and appreciate nature.

I have a passion for teaching and I will try my best to make your child succeed. All it takes is the three of us working as a team-Me, You and your child.  Remember you can make a difference in your child's life! My philosophy is that every child can learn.
