This year will be my 10th year working in the Edgewood Independent School District. My experience includes one year as a 2nd grade teacher, 5 years as a 3rd grade Dual Language Teacher and 3 years as a member of the Academic Leadership Team here at Las Palmas Elementary.
I graduated from UTSA with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies and Mexican American Studies in 2003. UTSA is also where I earned my M.A. in Education in Bicultural-Bilingual Studies in 2008.
This year, I'm excited and honored that our campus will continue to offer our students the Dual Language program. Our Dual Language students receive a rigorous education while acquiring 2 languages and 2 cultures!
My family includes my husband, Brian, and our son Esai. My husband is a high school Chemistry teacher and we both value education.
The field of education is a challenging and rewarding one. Las Palmas Elementary has many enriching activities and events planned for our students and can't wait to have a rewarding 2013-2014 academic school year!
