Welcome to Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary. It is through family guidance that I’ve come to serve as principal of the elementary school I attended as a child. Likewise, I was also a math teacher for six years at E.T.WrennMiddle School, which I also attended as a middle school student. I grew up two blocks from our school and my mother still lives there, which I consider a privilege to be able to visit with her.
I received my high school diploma from Edgewood High School and my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. I also have a Master’s Degree in Education: Counseling and Guidance, from Texas State University, and a Master’s Degree in Education: Curriculum and Supervision, from Trinity University.
It is with great pleasure and honor that I serve the students, staff, and community at HBG. I have an open door policy and invite you to stop by and visit so we can work together to meet the educational needs of all students at HBG.
I have “Meeting with the Principal” sessions scheduled from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm prior to all PTA meetings (6:00 pm-7:00 pm). During the first session in September I met with about twenty parents in an informal setting and we had a great time.
I look forward to an “EXEMPLARY” school year and to meeting with all HBG parents throughout the year.
