Digital Cameras: Flip Cameras (check out from library) Available to teachers for checkout through the librarian. Nikon Coolpix (1 per gradelevel)
Each grade level (Pre-K - 5 ) is provided with a camera, rechargeable batteries, 1 GB memory card, cable and case for use during instruction and special events. Nikon Coolpix (check out) Two Nikon Coolpix are available for integrative lessons that involve more than one camera. Rechargable batteries, memory cards, and download cables are available. Sony Mavica Camera An older camera, it utilizes floppy disks for photo memory storage. It can be checked out and has two rechargeable batteries and floppy disks. Digital Video Camera and Tripod Sony mini DV camera it is equipped with an internal memory card (1 GB), DV cassettes, rechargeable battery, DC adapter and infrared remote control. It is capable of taking photographs as well as video. A tripod is also included. Distance Learning Station The Cisco Telecomunication unit is located in the campus Library/ Media Center. Teachers can utilize this resource and have interactive fieldtrips co-ordinated with Region 20 and scheduled with Technology Teacher and/ or Librarian. Other Technologies for Integration:
Promeathean Boards
Gardendale has eleven Promethean Board systems that are being utilized in the classrooms, computer labs and special education rooms. Promethean Boards are interactive whiteboard system that uses a digital projector, computer and touch technology to create lessons that interact with teachers and students. Also, there are four sets of ActivInspire Polling devices available for check out from the library. Smart Boards Gardendale has twenty Smart Boards that are being utilized in the computer labs and or classrooms. An interactive technology tool that must be used with a digital projector and computer combination. The Smart Board uses interactive pens and is mounted on a wall or stand. Apple Ipad 2 Cart Gardendale has 25 Apple IPAD 2, for classroom check out. Currently only students can use this resource through a teacher guided activities. All Ipads must be checked back in at the end of the school day.
