I have been part of the Edgewood community my entire life. I attended Loma Park Elementary, Truman Middle School and graduated from Memorial High School. As a military wife I was able to attend and graduate from Mary-Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas in 1991 earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Upon returning to San Antonio there was an opportunity for me to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned my Master of Arts Degree in Bilingual-Bicultural Studies. In the fall of 2012 I completed the Adminstration Certification program from Concordia University.
Several different fields of employment include Higher Education and Social Work. In 1999 I was hired to work at HK Williams to teach 6th grade Science and Social Studies. Within the same year the 6th grade team was moved to Gus Garcia Middle School where I have dedicated the last fifteen years of my life. My teaching experience has included teaching Spanish levels I and II, Science, Social Studies, AVID, Dyslexia and Career Portals throughout the years here at Gus Garcia. It has been a wonderful and amazing opportunity to work in the community that I cherish with all my heart. The fruit of my work is to discover the success many of our students are able to experience after graduating from EISD schools.
I am married to SAPD Officer Victor Moreno, also a Memorial High School alumni. Spending time with my family is of the upmost importance. My two grandchildren Mia, 4 and Aiden 1 are the joy of my life. Our family enjoys participating in many outdoor activities such as traveling, camping, playing volleyball and grilling every chance we get.
