Art club is an opportunity for any and all students on campus to come and create! They may participate in the activities provided or simply use the space and materials to create anything of their choosing.
Hello! My name is Ms. Brielle Erdie and I am the Art 1 teacher for Kennedy High!
This is my first year teaching High School art! I have a B.A. in Studio Arts from the College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a M.A. in Secondary Education from Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.
I have worked in Education since I graduated college in 2005! From substitute teaching to teaching Tae Kwon Do, I am a passionate life long learner and being an educator helps me share that love through exploration and discovery!
Art 1 is all about the fundamentals of art in respects to both process and product. I teach the elements and principles of art, which serve as the foundation for all forms of artistic communication, as well as introduce materials and techniques used by artists from the past and present to help students find their own unique voice.
We explore a large array of diverse media during the school year: Oil pastels, water color, charcoal, printmaking, clay, and cardboard, just to name a few. My goal is to introduce my students to new information and experiences that will build their confidence and help them to succeed in all areas of life.
"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." Scott Adams
