My main role as an LSSP is identifying students with disabilities within the guidelines set forth by IDEA and TEA across the district. I also serve in two specialized assessment teams: Bilingual and Early Childhood. As part of these teams, my responsibilities involve participating in assessments, staffings, observations, and ARD meetings across the district. However, my home campus is Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary. Services that I provide at the campus include: conducting functional behavior assessments, counseling as a related service, consultation, interventions for behavior-related issues, parent advocacy, consultation on RTI and URS process, scheduling ARD meetings, monitoring campus compliance, facilitating ARDs, and facilitating initial evaluations and re-evaluations.
