The yearbook staff will meet every Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm in Room 224.
We are currently seeking staff to fill Yearbook Committee positions. Below is a description of the responsibilities of each position. If you are interested in applying for a position please contact Mr. Castillo. Interviews will be conducted on Friday, December 7th.
Copy Editor (1 position)- The copy editor must be a detail-oriented person with a desire to read repetitive material. The copy editor proofs all copy of the yearbook, ensures names are spelled correctly and captions are written clearly, is responsible for editing all text and assists the editor with the layout of the book.
Advertiser(2 positions)- The advertiser is the individual responsible for reminding the Memorial High School community about the yearbook throughout the school year. This includes reminding students to submit their photos and purchase a yearbook. The advertiser puts up flyers and posters around campus and sends out mass emails to remind their classmates of approaching deadlines. The advertiser must be outgoing and enthusiastic about the yearbook, as they are responsible for promoting it to the student body.
Photographer Journalist(several positions)- The photographer/journalist becomes involved in on and off-campus activities and is responsible for taking as many pictures of club events as possible and conducting interviews about the event or activities. This person should have extra time particularly on weekends and weekday evenings to photograph events. A digital camera is not required. Those with a keen eye for interesting photo perspectives are especially encouraged to apply.
