Tips for Portfolio Podcast
  • Video should have a focus on one concept and reinforce the idea.
  • It should be educational or instructional in nature.
  • It can be part of a lesson, in addition to a lesson or the lesson; but it should be instructional.
  • The best type of instructional video is usually narrated and task oriented.
  • The podcast should be between 2 and 5 minutes long.
  • ANY video format is fine, so long as it can be hosted on SchoolWires.
  • If you are not in the classroom, the content can be more flexible.  The content can be instructional or informational as long as it expresses an idea, then clarifies the idea.
  • A podcast that is for entertainment value does not meet the portfolio requirement. Podcasts that are set to music without narration could be an example. These entertainment type podcasts can still be uploaded and hosted on SchoolWires, but the maker of the podcast will not be given credit on the SchoolWires Rubric for this type of podcast.
