Hello parents and guardians, welcome to a brand new school year! My name is Ms. Nuñez and I will be your child’s 6th  and 7th grade math teacher this year. I am truly looking forward to getting to know the families of each of my students as we begin our new journey that is middle school.
 
To let you know a little about myself, this is my first year at Gus Garcia Middle School. I was raised in Brooklyn, New York where I attended the High School of Telecommunications, Arts and Technology. After I graduated high school, I went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!). While I was there, I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication Arts and Gender & Women’s Studies as well as a certificate in Chican@ & Latin@ Studies. After graduating college, I moved to San Antonio where I joined AmeriCorps and dedicated a year of service to lowering the San Antonio dropout rate with the nonprofit organization City Year, Inc. I am really excited to be a part of this transformational year here at Gus Garcia Middle School. With the help of parents and the community, I believe all of our students can achieve at high levels.
