DearParents,
Summeris almost over and we are busy preparing for the arrival of a new school year. We will be planning several evenings for youto participate in.
- August 23rd Meet the Teacher Night 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Come and meet your child’s teacher. Class lists will be posted by 2:00 p.m.
- August 30th Parent/Student Orientations 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
This is an important event for parents to hearteacher expectations and grade level requirements for promotion at the end ofthe year.
- September 11th PTA Meeting 6:00 p.m.
Wewelcome several new staff members to include: Ms. Mashyell Calderon – Assistant Principal, Ms. Sara Talarczyk,Kindergarten Teacher, Ms. Ana Cantu – First Grade Bilingual Teacher, Ms. Amanda Searcy – 2nd Grade Teacher, Ms.Melissa Maxi-Hall – School Nurse, Ms. Stacy Pattenaude – Technology Teacher andMs. Phyllis Abernathy – Accelerated Instruction Teacher.
TheEISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the School Supply Initiative forthe 2012 – 2013 school year. This meansthat the district students will receive the school supplies they need at nocost to parents.
Asmany of you prepare to purchase uniforms for the upcoming school year, it isimportant to review the District Uniform Policy. Please plan wisely so compliance issues canbe avoided.
Girls: White or royalblue polo-styled shirts or blouses with short/long sleeves with collar – Darknavy blue or khaki walking shorts, skirt or slacks
Boys: White or royalblue polo-styled short/long sleeves shirts with collar – Dark navy blue orkhaki walking shorts or slacks
Pantsmay have pockets in the front and back (maximum of four total pockets). Carpenter,INCO Cargo, Capri, windbreakers pants, sweatpants/shorts or overall dress/pants are not allowed. No jeans or denim cloth material will beallowed. Shorts and skirts shall not be more than 4 inches above the knee and 3rd– 5th grade mid thigh or longer. Mid thigh will be judged as where the tips of the fingers meet when armsare beside the body and standing straight.
Asyou prepare for haircuts on the first day back to school, please keep in mindthat conspicuous or non-traditional styles or colors of hair will beprohibited. This includes but is notlimited to any style of Mohawk and highlights.
School hours are 7:45 a.m.to 3:15 p.m.
