    Food Bank

    The San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) is a non-profit organization that serves as a clearinghouse by receiving and storing truckloads of donated food, produce, and other grocery products. SAFB distributes these items in manageable quantities to over 500 service agencies that help people in need.

  • Center for Working Families

    Center for Working Families

    The Department of Community Initiatives (DCI) assists families with basic needs such as: utility assistance (electric and water) and rental assistance.

    DCI’s Center for Working Families (CWF) provides supportive services, case management and employment referral assistance to families of San Antonio and Bexar County.

    CWF's main focus is to provide low- income families and individuals with the support they need to move toward better jobs and financial self-sufficiency.

    DCI’s Homeless Services Division seeks to facilitate the development, implementation and utilization of community resources to stabilize, re-house, and reunify homeless individuals and families.

  • Neighborhood Place

    Neighborhood PlaceThe Neighborhood Place – Edgewood – El Hogar de los Vecinos is a place where families, children, youth and seniors can attend a ballroom dance lesson, share parenting techniques, shoot hoops in the gym, learn to use their computer skills, enjoy the playground or just sit and read a great book!

    Formerly known as H.K. Williams Elementary School, The Neighborhood Place is a place to gather and have community meetings or neighborhood association picnics. The atmosphere is safe, fun and inviting.
