Things you should know about Attendance…….
Hours of Operation
1) State law requires that all students between the ages of 6 and 18 must attend school and District-required tutorial sessions unless the student is otherwise legally exempted or excused.
2) Nonattendance will result in credit denial and legal proceedings against both student and parent.
3) The student commits an offense if the student is required to attend school and fails to attend school on 10 or more days for 1st and 5th periods and 5 or more days for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th periods or parts of days within a six-month period in the same school year or on three or more days or parts within a four-week period.
4) A student may not attend fieldtrips or participate in extracurricular activities if student has unexcused absences.
5) The Attendance Office will notify a student’s parent in writing at the beginning of the school year that if the student is absent from school on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the same school year or on three or more days or parts within a four-week period:
a) the student’s parent is subject to prosecution.
