Theatre Arts


 

Theatre Arts I is an introductory course. We will work to create skills for performance and learn how theatre can be a place for creative expression. But this class will not just focus on how to be an actor. We will examine theatre as a whole and all its various parts. Throughout this class you will make artistic choices, perform, and work as a team. So by the end of the year you will have general understanding of how theatre works and a better understanding of yourself.
 
In Theatre Arts II-IV students will continue to hone their skills for performance as well as determine an area of focus. Students can choose to focus on acting or technical theatre.

 Professional Communications
 
Professional Communications is a semester long course that is a requirement to graduate. The course will focus on understanding and developing effective communication skills for all students. You will be expected to identify, analyze, develop and evaluate communication skills that are necessary for personal, professional and social success. This course was once titled Speech, so by the end of this course you will have the skills needed to give successful oral presentations. This class is intended to make you a better communicatorbe prepared to participate!
