My name is Mrs. Nelda Paz. I am a school counselor at Memorial High School.  I want to encourage parents and community members to work with us to assist your child in his academic, social, and emotional development. 

I want to share with you my background so that you will feel you know me a little better.  I am a graduate of Benavides High School.  I continued my post-secondary education at Texas A&M Kingsville. I received a Bachelor of Science and began my journey in education.  I taught early childhood for four years.  In addition, I was a librarian at an elementary for two years and then followed with 3 years as a librarian at a middle school.  In between my years as a librarian, I received a Master's Degree in Guidance & Counseling.  I received my first opportunity to be a school counselor at Edgewood I.S.D. at Memorial High School in 2007.  I am very glad that I was given this opportunity because I have met many exceptional students and colleagues.
