Welcome to Lynn Dixon-Gonzales' Teacher Page!
"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn." ~Alvin Toffler
I am originally from the United Kingdom and received my Bachelor of Arts from Kingston University in London. I have a double major in German and Political Science with a minor in Economics. As part of my degree I spent a year studying political science at the University of Mannheim in Germany.
I am certified by the state of Texas to teach Technology Applications (Grades EC-12), Generalist (Grades 4-8), Social Studies (Grades 8-12) and Special Education (Grades EC-12). Although I came to Kennedy in 2012, I have been teaching in Edgewood since 2006 and have been an Instructional Technology Teacher since 2007, it’s the best job I’ve ever had and I especially enjoy the time I get to spend in the classroom with students.
If you're wondering how I ended up as a technology teacher, it's due to the fact that I spent many years working in the fields of telecommunications and information technology. I am passionate about technology and my work experience means that I have first-hand knowledge of the skills students need to be successful in the workplace. By working with teachers to integrate technology in the classroom, we can help to ensure that Kennedy students will be prepared to compete for the best jobs society has to offer.
