I was born and raised here in San Antonio. I graduated from John Marshall High School and then Texas A&M University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. My previous places of employment have included NASA - Johnson Space Center, City Public Service power plants, and Habitat for Humanity. After several years of traveling and working different types of jobs, I returned to San Antonio for engineering graduate school in 2004. I was taking classes at St. Mary's University when I realized I wanted to be a teacher.
Through alternative certification, I began my teaching career with EISD in January of 2007 at the Fine Arts Academy. I transferred to Memorial High School in the fall of 2008 and to the Toltech T-STEM Academy in the fall of 2011. I am certified to teach high school Math, Physics, and Engineering. I have taught and tutored Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus, Calculus,  Intro to Engineering, TAKS prep/remediation, and SAT prep. I am almost finished with my Master's of Education in Teacher Leadership through Lamar University's online Academic Partnerships Program. I have also participated in many hours of professional development for 21st century learning and technology integration.  I plan on completing more courses at the graduate level in Math and Physics and possibly seeking a principal certification.
My greatest hope as a teacher is that my students learn perseverence, dedication, and critical thinking skills.
