My family is from Pharr, TX and I graduated from Pharr-San Juan- Alamo High School in 1986. I enlisted in the United States Navy in 1986 and lived in cool places like Japan and Hawaii. I left the military in 1991 to pursue my education and have never really stopped learning.
I lived in Houston, TX from 1991-1992 and attended the University of Houston- Downtown. I moved to Edinburg, TX from 1992-1993 and attended the University of Texas- Pan American. I finally moved to San Antonio, TX in 1993 and attended the University of Texas- San Antonio.
I graduated from UTSA with a Bachelor's in Health Education in 1996. I started my teaching career in the Edgewood ISD in 1999, as a Spanish Teacher at Harry S Truman Middle School. I coached the girls in various sports and sponsored a Spanish Club too. While working with our students I graduated with a Master' s of Education in Counseling in 2007 from UTSA, then a Master's of Art in Educational Administration in 2010 from Lamar University. (If you want information about getting into Nursing School at the UTHSC or St. Mary's Law School , I will be happy to help.)
I was a School Counselor at O.W. Holmes High School for the 2010-2011 school year in Northside ISD. I was excited about returning to Edgewood ISD on September 6, 2011, as a School Counselor for the Toltech T-STEM Academy. I am currently the School Counselor for the Career Academy students and look forward to guiding our students through the journey of life while in high school! Learning is a lifelong process of continuous learning. ... Always have a plan!
