Daniel Piña, Principal

Welcome back parents and students to yet another exciting year of school. I want to begin to thank the 2014-2015 faculty and staff of Perales Elementary School for a memorable first year as principal.  With their collaborative and cooperative approach we had a very successful year, but I don’t want us to be a one hit wonder.   The journey we will embark on this year will have some up and downs with straight and narrow paths, but we will work every day to reach our goal of academic excellence.

As your principal and partner I remain energized and committed to making a positive long-lasting difference in the lives of our students. We will continue to learn from our past to work on the future. This will be accomplished by setting high academic expectations for all stakeholders and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increasing academic expectations for all students and engaging the community, it is our goal that the whole child is empowered—academically, emotionally and socially.

We know that teachers play a huge role in the lives of the students, but it is you, the parent/guardian who interact with them on a daily basis has the biggest impact, and it is what constitutes the success of our students. In order to achieve this we must continue to stay true to what will ensure our success: embracing where we currently are, evaluating, determining what we what is needed to make the necessary improvements, and working together to build solid foundations.

It is my hope that all students get involved in our school through clubs, organization and sports.  We need to cultivate a school culture where every student feels that they are part of greatness, and that they take ownership of their future—inside and outside of the classroom.  Working together and with your commitment, involvement, partnership and support, we can ensure that all stakeholders, especially the students of Perales Elementary, will continue to achieve their highest potential.  So let’s have a great 2015-2016 academic year!  GO ROADRUNNERS
