I just want to take a moment to tell my audience a little bit about me. I grew up here in San Antonio, Texas and I lived in Austin during my early twenties. I have my Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management and I am certified to teach Early Childhood to 6th grade. This is my 2nd year here at Gardendale and I am loving being a 3rd grade teacher. Previously, I was mostly a Sales Manager in retail. It is way more fun hanging out and teaching kids all day then being stuck behind a desk and talking to adults.
My 2 year old son, Maxx, was my main motivation for becoming a teacher. Some of my hobbies include: reading, swimming, tubing, camping, traveling, horseback riding, seeing live music, and spending time with friends and family. I also really enjoy watching superhero shows and movies. My favorite superhero is Iron Man. My classroom is filled with superhero pictures so that me and my students can stay motivated. I do my best to keep a positive attitude in and out of the classroom.
I did such a good job as a Kindergarten teacher during the 2013-2014 school year that our Principal, Miss Garcia, decided to promote me to 3rd grade. I am also the grade-level leader. My motto in 3rd grade is that you have to work hard to play hard. I really love rewarding my students for their hard work and that involves following directions; putting in the most effort; and trying their best.
1. Be respectful (be kind to others)
2. Come to school prepared.
3. Keep your hands, feet, and body to yourself.
4. Follow the teacher's directions.
5. Listen and pay attention during instruction.
Please contact me if you have any questions about my teaching philosophies or if you just want to chat about how your student is doing. I understand that communication is incredibly important to every student's education.
