pencils Welcome to 7th Grade LANGUAGE ARTS
            Welcome to Language Arts with Ms. Casillas-Ramirez (Ms. C-R).  We are hard at work with many things right now. Currently, we are working on our writing since the Writing TAKS is scheduled for Tuesday, March 1st.  Writing is a challenge for most students so we do write on a regular basis in the classroom in order to get comfortable with this skill.  I am always available to the students to answer any questions they might have.  Revising and editing is another component of the Writing TAKS that we continue to work on.
 
     After March 1st, our focus will shift to Reading.  The Reading TAKS is on the calander for the week of April 27th.  Reading tends to be a bit easier than writing so the students will still be working but hopefully enjoying the curriculum more.
             
            Parents, please encourage your children to read every night.  One of their daily homework assignments is that they read their AR (Accelerated Reader) book.  Their other homework assignment is given to them on Wednesday and is due back on Thursday.  With your constant attention at home and my attention on them here at school, I know we can help them be successful students the entire year.  Thank you parents!
