Wins First-Ever Sweepstakes in School History
The Kennedy High School
band did something that no other band has done in
school history. The Rockets won the UIL sweepstakes
championship this school year.

Resolution Opposes Wall Between U.S. and Mexico
The
Board of Trustees passed a resolution opposing a
proposed wall on the border between the United
States and Mexico. Edgewood ISD is the only school
district in San Antonio to pass such a resolution.
The resolution is transcribed in English and

Garza named
Superintendent for Edgewood
Dr. Elizabeth P. Garza
became only the second woman in the District’s
history to be named Superintendent by Board Trustees
March 13.
There have been 12 Edgewood superintendents since
1930 when Hugh K. Williams served as the first. Ten
men and two women have been superintendent. Dr.
Dolores Munoz served in the 1990’s.
